Shelbyville is a city in Tennessee and the county seat of Bedford County. Shelbyville is about 50 miles southeast of Nashville in the hills an valleys of Tennessee. It is very well recognized for its cultural history roots and great beauty, the town is well known around the world for the yearly Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration. The county was first created in 1807 when the citizens of Rutherford County living south of the Duck and Stones River’s were successful in a petition to split Rutherford County into seperate counties. The new county got its name from Revolutionary War officer Thomas Bedford Jr., who was a very big landowner in the community. The Bedford County Fair is a big hit every year. Throughout all the fair week days, it stays very steady and consistent. It is located at Midland Road, Shelbyville, Tennessee 37160, United States. The ticket prices vary and for previous reference continue reading: Monday and Tuesday were $1.00/person, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday were $5.00/person, and Thursday was $10.00/person. A family pass for all 6 days of the fair was $50 for a family of 4. Ages 6 and under is free every night.
Every day of the week gates open at 4pm other than saturday when they open at 10 am. They are trying to build a family atmosphere, and always want to be devoted to the foundation of agriculture on which the fair is built. It is their chance to educate the younger generation.
