Old Fort Park and Golf Course is a 50-acre park and public golf course located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The park grounds include the Civil War-era Fortress Rosecrans and two trailheads to the City’s Greenway system. Established in 1985, Old Fort Golf Club is a public golf course owned by the city. The golf course is located along the banks of the Stones River adjacent to Fortress Rosecrans, a historic earthen fort used during the Civil War.
It is known to be one of the top public golf courses in the state, Old Fort has had the opportunity of hosting a number of championship events including a stage of the PGA Tour Q School and Senior PGA Tour Bell South Qualifier. The original park site was once private farmland which was then bought by the City of Murfreesboro in 1965. The park was dedicated on October 29, 1977. The park comprises 50 acres and has three picnic shelters, two playgrounds, two baseball fields, eight tennis courts, and green areas. In 2010, the City began a $330,000 restoration project aimed at improving the quality of the waterways and preserving the natural spaces The course continues to host championship events such as USGA Boys and Girls Junior Amateur Qualifiers, Tennessee Golf Association, and Tennessee PGA Section tournaments. March through November is the season and the website has all the prices you would need to know. The off-season is the months of December through February.
Old Fort offers a variety of programs for golfers of all ages! Their men’s association plays one event every month of the year. Their ladies league and senior league play weekly throughout the year. There are several different junior programs to accommodate any age or level of player! This golf club offers many different lessons, classes, clinics, and programs.
