Lebanon is the county seat of Wilson County, Tennessee, United States. It reached its largest population of 38,695 in 2021. It is located in Middle Tennessee, around 25 miles east of downtown Nashville. The city was established in 1801, and it got its name from the biblical cedars of Lebanon.
Fiddlers Grove Historic Village is the fairground location in Lebanon, Tennessee. Most locals are very familiar with this spot. It is located at 945 E Baddour Pkwy, Lebanon, TN 37087. When you visit this historic town, you will feel like you are being taken back in time as you walk through the Grove and encounter people’s lives. You will find out that it is a typical early village where the homes consisted of a one-room log cabin. The kids were taught in a one-room school and attended a small ancient church for worship. You are able to visit a blacksmith’s shop where cooking silverware and farm equipment were made. Stop in a doctor’s office while you are there and see the carriage that was used to make any long-distance calls. Tour an old-fashioned cobbler’s shop and see a 1700s log cabin and grain mill. You can see Sam Houston’s law office and will find Houston sitting at his table in front of the mantle and fireplace.
This town also holds historic spots sucb as a funeral home, sheriff’s office, service station, radio station, jail, drug store, post office, hardware store, barbershop, sawmill, farm equipment museum, printing office, model train museum, caboose, and train station to all visitors. Shop at the General Store during your visit and get yourself a cold drink and relax in a rocking chair on the front porch before you visit the feed and seed store. As you travel along the path you will enjoy all of the small gardens with old plants and pretty flowers maintained by the Master Gardeners as well as many other gardeners. You should also make plans to visit and stay awhile in Lebanon so you have the time to take in all that the Grove has to offer! Over fifty buildings make up the entire Wilson County location.
