Peay Park is Goodlettsville’s original park. Once managed by the Men’s Club, it was donated to the City of Goodlettsville in 1967. The park contains: the Delmas Long Community Center; a playground; some tennis courts; and a splash pad. The community center is available for renting. Park hours are 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. (7:00 to 22:00 in 24-hour time) during all weekdays as well as on Saturdays and Sundays. Rental requests can be made online; additionally they can be made in person at the Delmas Long Community Center. Within the Delmas Long Community Center, one can rent a multi-purpose room. The room accommodates up to 75 people, with twelve six-foot rectangular tables and 75 chairs available. The room has Internet access. A kitchenette is also available.
The playground was installed in 2014, thanks to a Local Parks and Recreation Fund grant. The playground features a poured in place surface, a structure for ages 2-5, another structure for ages 5-12, swings, and other independent structures alongside a shaded area with picnic tables. Use of tables is first come first serve; reservations not accepted.
The splash pad opened on August 31, 2019. It is a fully fenced 5,600-square-foot facility. Admission is not charged. Hours are 10:30 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. (10:30 to 20:00 in 24h time), Monday through Sunday. Closed occasionally for such reasons as inclement weather and maintenance. Pop-up tents are permitted but must be placed and/or used outside of the splash pad fencing. The splash pad features a series of water cannons, floor geysers, water buckets, and spray loops. Alongside those are a water tunnel, an aquadome, and seating integrated within the pad, outside of the water’s reach. The splash pad cannot be rented.
